Numbers are growing for our get-togethers on the first and third Fridays of the month in the Strathalbyn Hall.  Some people can only get to occasional meetings and others call in to learn a specific technique, but our long table is full most of the time and may soon need another trestle added.

Members are working on all sorts of projects at the moment – not all strictly hooking, but certainly in the creative spirit of the craft.  Joan’s spectacular rugs and wall hangings are a good example. She begins by braiding a circular rug then embroiders patterns over it.

As well, we are busy with smaller wall hangings, both for the Canberra competition on ‘Shore to Shore’, and an array of decorated alphabet letters to be exhibited and sold at the South Australian Living Artists Week exhibition in Strathalbyn.  Both collections will feature in our next blog.

cheers, Gail
